Hi I'm Brittany

To be quite Frank with you I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am studying to be a teacher and will hopefully be able to teach kindergartners in the near future. I grew up in northern California and loved it. I come from a divorced family. I have always lived with my mom, step-dad, two older sisters and two younger brothers. On my dad's side I also have two younger sisters. My family is a little mixed up and all the different connections get confusing sometimes but I love them all and wouldn't trade it for anything. I recently ran a half marathon and that was a big accomplishment in my life but I hurt my knee and haven't been able to run since. I love to snow board and while I'm not very good at it, I'm trying... :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was not born in the church, as I mentioned before my parents are divorced and my step dad was the person who finally got my mom to join the church. The church had come into my mom's life a few times previously but when she met my step dad she finally gave it a chance. Without her making the decision to be baptized into the church who know where I would be today. That all happened when I was only 4 years old. I basically grew up in the church, I always believed it was true. But it wasn't until I personally prayed to asked my Heavenly Father if it was true that I and knew it was true for myself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to do the Lord's will. I am trying to grow closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I want to be an example to the people I am around and serve them in any way possible. I study the words of the Lord in the Book of Mormon and in the Bible and try to follow the doctrine in both the best that I can. I'm trying to become the best me possible by following the commandments and striving to overcome imperfections. I am preparing to serve a mission and bring the gospel into their lives and help them feel the spirit that I feel everyday.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I really do believe this, his name is Thomas S. Monson and he leads and guides this church. It was described to me that Adam didn't receive direction for Noah in Old Testament times. There were many prophets throughout the Bible. If there were prophets back then that directed the people then why would God not leave us with someone who will help us to know his will for us today. I love this principle because it helps me to know that God knows who I am personally and wants to help me make it back to him by giving me living guidance and direction for how I can best achieve that. What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It tells of Christ's coming to the America's. It does not replace the Bible, but adds to it. The Book of Mormon can bring you closer to Jesus Christ than any other book. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is to be tested and prove ourselves worthy to return back to live with our Father in Heaven. Everything we experience in this life is to teach us something, it will help us on our eternal journey. If we can pass the tests of mortality we have the opportunity to return again to live with God and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
