Hi I'm Chris

I'm just a guy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and a father of two girls and one boy. I enjoy fixing things and updating my home. I like movies, old stuff, architecture, skateboards and my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in my early 20's, I was a single father with very little hope of a bright future. My life was not going the way I had thought that it would, I was financially in trouble, I had little hope, it seemed that I had no chance of a bright future. I had met a woman who was a Mormon, and I immediately noticed something different about her. When I was around her, I felt a peace and comfort that I had not felt before. We would spend time talking about the Gospel and everything that she was telling me made sense. I could feel the Holy Ghost comfort me when she was sharing her thoughts and feelings of the Gospel. I wanted to know more and keep this feeling. During this time, my life started to smooth out and take a positive turn and everything started to fall into place and move into a positive direction. Giving up all of my bad habits, was not even difficult or something that I had to think about, it just seemed right. As I started to go to church and learn, I started to gain a testimony of my own. I know that I had to go through the trials and hard times that I did just to make it to where I am today. Today, my life is completely different than it was when I started out. I still face trials but now I have something that helps me through the trials that we face with a positive outlook. I have a peace and love in my heart that would not be there if it were not for the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I love sharing my testimony and helping others gain one for themselves.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Ward Mission Leader. I love being involved with missionary work and talking to others about the Gospel. I love the satisfaction that I feel when I live my life in accordance with the teachings of the Gospel. I love watching my children learn about the teachings of Christ and the things that I am learning as an adult. I truly enjoy watching the change that takes place in the lives of those who embrace the Gospel and are converted and baptized. I especially enjoy Sunday, being surrounded by those who share the same beliefs, learning from each other and the powerful feeling of the Spirit that fills my heart and body.

What is the priesthood?

Chris
The Priesthood is the authority given to man on the earth by God to act in his name. This is extremely important, especially to me and in my conversion. When I hear of others outside of our faith getting baptized, I think to myself "What gives that official the authority to baptize in the name of God"? I wonder how can someone who attends a Bible College or training class have authority to baptize and have it bound in Heaven? The person performing the baptism must have true Priesthood authority from God for it to mean anything. Just as it was in Biblical times, the Gospel and its principles are unchanging, they are true forever. Show more Show less
