Hi I'm Jan

I am a sincere believer of Jesus Christ and happen to be a Mormon. I love it more and more everyday.

About Me

I am the twelfth of fourteen children, eight brothers and six sisters. I am the seventh son of a seventh son. I am married to my childhood sweetheart and have five children. I spend my days working with systems and computers solving technical problems. At home, I love to express myself creatively with woodworking - programming - home projects - image manipulation (Photoshop) etc. Fascinated by early Christian history and the evolution of Christian doctrine.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by a family who embraced Mormonism in past generations. Although I was raised in a Mormon family, and was exposed to the doctrines of the church, my real conversion began when I began to live those teaching. I was able to clearly see the value and results of living a life that Jesus showed. When I compare every other social lifestyle with those of the church, I have no doubt that Mormonism is valuable. Aside from living according to the tenets of the church, I have felt the power of God in my life, particularly when I act as opposed to just hearing. The spirit of God has continuously testifies of truth and directs my mind in so many ways. I like the quote "I follow not because I am blind, but because I see". I guess the best reason why I am a Mormon is because I love it. 100%

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in our area. We organize area wide activities that bring together youth from surrounding communities. We organize things like Youth conferences, Pioneer Treks, Temple trips and Youth Dances. I live my faith largely by the example I set. Everyone at work knows that my personal standards are different than what society deems normal. I try to be happy.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

There are lots of people who know speeding laws, but not everyone can give you a speeding ticket. That authorization comes from the state. The same is true about how God works. There are lots of people who know much about religion, but not everyone is authorized to acts in the name of Jesus Christ. Authorization must be granted. Christ said "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you..." The scriptures also say "And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron." So in the case of Baptism, one must be authorized to perform acts of God. Show more Show less
