Hi I'm Darren

I grew up in the church, but I had to lose my way to find my way. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and my wife and I have 6 children between us. I love to play golf and be in the great outdoors. I enjoy working in the yard and in the garden. I am a newbee to gardening so it is a learning experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ. I want to serve him and return to him with my family.I know that through faith and through his gospel I will see him again. I am a Mormon because He lives and loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, reading my scriptures, serving those in my neighborhood and serving where I am asked to serve in my ward. I do my best to love those around me.That is sometimes easier said than done, but Jesus Christ is my example and He is the best example that I can follow. I have found that my greatest source of strength is prayer. My Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers and is always there to listen to me. I can go to Him when I need to and he knows my needs and concerns. I love my Heavenly Father. He is real and I look forward to the day that I can talk with him face to face. I love the Temple. I enjoy going to the House of the Lord and serving there. It is the epitome of my faith. It is where heaven and earth meet and I feel the closest to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I have had many spiritual experiences there that have strengthened my testimony. The temple calls to me. It speaks of family and eternity.

What is being a Mormon like?

Darren
It is work. Being a member requires that you come with a willingness to serve your brothers and sisters. We have a hymn that says"...put your shoulder to the wheel push along, do your duty with a heart full of song. We all have work, let no one shirk, put your shoulder to the wheel." We are asked to be willing to mourn with those that mourn, comfort those that stand in need of comfort and stand as a witness of God at all time and in all places. That is what it is like to be a member. Show more Show less
