Hi I'm Niki

I love to play games and sports. I love to learn new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother. My only child is a wonderful girl who was just married last fall. I work outside my home but spend as much time as I can with my family. I love to read, and love taking pictures. My favorite hobby is scrapbooking because I love to remember how many wonderful times and people I've had in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I studied and prayed to know if it was the true church. When I was a teenager I attended church and believed it was true, and decided it was time to gain my own testimony of the Book of Mormon. I read and prayed, just like the book tells you to do, and was answered with a wonderful feeling that told me it was true. Since then I've had many experiences that have confirmed it to me time and time again. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I love learning to become like Him, and I love the blessings I have seen in my life, and in the lives of those that I care so much about. It brings me more happiness than I can describe.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve in many areas of the church and I've loved the things that I have learned. I am currently playing the piano in our weekly Sunday womens class. I make mistakes, but I love learning the hymns and developing one of my talents. I try to live my life every day to become better than I was before. I try to live the teachings of the gospel and treat others as the Savior would. I have become such good friends with other members of the church, and admire so many of them. It encourages me to keep trying!

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Niki
The Bible is scripture. It is writings of the prophets that teach about Jesus Christ. Reading the bible teaches us about people who lived, and made choices, and allows us to learn about them. It teaches us about the Savior's birth, life, and death. It teaches us about his church, and how it should be organized. Heavenly Father wants us to make good choices that will allow us to return to Him, and therefore he has communicated with men who were worthy, to teach us what to do. We are blessed to have the Bible that tells us about these teachings from so long ago. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Niki
Just like in ancient times we are blessed to have a prophet today that can receive revelation to guide us and bless us. One of these modern day revelations we call the "Word of Wisdom". It is a revelation that teaches us how to treat our bodies to keep them healthy and capable of doing what we need it to do. It teaches us to abstain from tobacco and alcohol consumption, both of which since then have been proven to be addicting and bad for your health. It teaches us to abstain from coffee and tea, both are also addicting. It tells us to avoid over consumption of meat, and to eat healthy things. Obedience to this principle allows us to be free from addiction, live healthier and longer lives, and shows that we are willing to be obedient. I am so grateful for this teaching and that I am able to live in a home that is free from the consequences of smoking and drinking alcohol. The blessings of that have been greater than I imagined they would be. Show more Show less
