Hi I'm Rob

I'm a Mormon trying to keep the commandments, offer something to my community, and be kind to those around me.

About Me

My wonderful wife is my eternal companion. We have three terrific adult daughters, all married. We have six grandchildren, with one more on the way. Through my wife, my daughters and sons-in-law, and my grandchildren, I have begun to understand true joy! I love them and want to be with them for eternity!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. But I wasn't truly converted to the gospel until I was 18 years old. As a freshman in college, I developed a desire to know for myself whether the gospel of Jesus Christ, as I had been taught, was true. I read the Book of Mormon. I prayed for several weeks asking for a confirmation of the truth. Finally, while kneeling at my bedside late one night, the Spirit confirmed to me that the Book of Mormon was true! Joseph Smith was a prophet of God! The true Church of Jesus Christ had been restored to the earth! I knew it and could not deny that my testimony was a gift from God. Throughout my life, while serving in the Church, I've had many experiences that have reinforced that first testimony. I know God lives! I know He knows who I am and is mindful of me! Through His son Jesus Christ, He has provided a way for me to return to Him, linked to my family, both parents and children, if I will follow the commandments.

How I live my faith

I am in the process of moving into a new congregation in a new state. I know I will soon have a new assignment, or Church calling. Whatever that assignment may be, I will do my best to be a positive influence and serve others. Through Church service, I have learned that joy comes by serving others. Focusing on the needs of others lightens my own load, and allows me to receive blessing from my Heavenly Father that would not otherwise be available to me. During my adult life, I've always had an assignment in the Church. In one way or another, all assignments involve service to others. I have especially enjoyed my teaching assignments, sometimes teaching youth, sometimes teaching adults. Teaching the gospel always brings me closer to the Spirit of the Lord because I have an opportunity every week to testify of Him. I love to sing Church hymns. Although I am an average singer with an untrained voice, I've always been welcomed into our choir. Singing these wonderful songs helps me feel close to the Savior. Sometimes emotion can be overwhelming, making it hard to sing the music, but it is always uplifting and edifying to sing about the Savior.
