Hi I'm Bobby Barron

I'm an identical twin. I'm a Graduate Gemologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a middle age, middle class hard working father who is trying to do right by my family, my Heavenly Father, my boss and even myself. It's not so easy in today's world. I love fishing and camping. I have an identical twin brother. He is 3 minutes older than me and we share a special bond as twin brothers. We also share a special bond as brothers in the priesthood. As priesthood holders we share a sacred duty to keep ourselves clean and worthy at all times. The priesthood we bear can only benefit us if we use it the bless the lives of others. And it can't be used by anyone who isn't worthy. It helps us to keep a proper perspective on life and to keep our priorities in the right place. I am a jeweler/gemologist by trade. I enjoy creating today's treasures knowing that they will become tomorrow's heirlooms. Although I work with valuable stones and precious metals I know my greatest treasure is my family.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young boy I was very puzzled about what I thought God was. I found church to be confusing and even frightening. This was due to sermons I had heard about the necessity of "fearing" God. I thought that meant that God was someone to be afraid of. I didn't know how to express my anxiety to my mother so my questions remained unanswered. At the age of 8 my family was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The first Sunday I attended, even as an 8 year old, I felt a peaceful and comfortable feeling. At this church we learned that God is our Heavenly Father who loves us each with an incomprehensible love. My heart completely embraced this view of GOD and somehow I knew it was the truth. My whole family felt the same and soon we were all baptized. 36 years later, I know that I was blessed with a spiritual sensitivity. It is a gift that our Heavenly Father bestows on all of his children. I know that we can grow closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ through the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, than through any other church. Here is where the gospel of Jesus Christ is taught in its fullness.

How I live my faith

My first and absolute priority is my own salvation. This requires obedience to the laws of God. As I obey, my faith, my strength and my ability to serve others increases. This is how I am able to lead my family. It has to be by example. The way I live my life sets the standard for my wife and children to follow. It is also noticed by those I work and associate with. This isn't easy. Like running a marathon it can only be done one step at a time. Scripture study, prayer and church attendance are critical elements in the process, with a healthy daily dose of repentance, lest anyone reading this thinks that I'm perfect. I'm not perfect, just committed to living the way that my Heavenly Father wants me to. I try to remember that Jesus Christ is my savior. It helps to read the scriptures every day. Prayer helps too. He has promised us that as we draw near unto Him that he will draw near unto us. It takes daily effort, mentally and spiritually, to focus on Jesus Christ and follow His example.
