Hi I'm Katie

I'm and opera singer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey Everyone!! So...a bit about me: I LOVE my job. I work in internet marketing and it is the bomb.com :) I speak French and I am learning German and Italian too. Learning other languages is my FAVORITE!! I lived in Switzerland for three months and it was AWESOME! I love to travel and I have visited Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Lichtenstein, Austria, and Egypt. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing and I did my undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies, Opera Performance...and randomly...pre-medicine too :) Now I'm doing a double MBA for France and US and I will study abroad in France for one year. I love being mormon and participating in my church. I love the Lord and I am excited to see where he will guide my life in the future!

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because it's true. I have been through many hard things in my life including growing up in an abusive envirionment, having my parents divorce at the fragile age of 16, and being raped and I could not have done the amazing things I have done in my life with out the love and comfort I recieve from my Savior. The Lord is the only place to find true healing and comfort in the times of our lives when we most need it. I love Him very much and I know that the mormon church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) is the true church and that Jesus Christ is at it's head. I'm grateful to know that and to be a mormon!!

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am. It guides every major decision in my life. Some of the things I do are: I don't drink alcohol, coffee, or tea, I use tobacco or other drugs, I keep the law of chastity which means I only kiss for now until I'm married, I read my scriptures every night, I pray multiple times a day, I attend church every Sunday, I attend the temple every week, I try to always be kind and loving towards those around me, I dress modestly, I try to surround myself with uplifting people with high values, and I continue my education and try to develop my talents in every way possible.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Katie
Our church's stand on homosexuality is that it is wrong and immoral. We extend our sympathy and love to those who struggle with this issue just as we do for those who struggle with other issues. We know that must be a very hard trial to deal with, but we do not consider that an excuse to behave immorally. Homosexuality distorts all the major blessings promised by God to his children. For instance, the ability to have an eternal family and to create children. We believe that an ability to procreate is one of the greatest blessings of our Heavenly Father to his children and it must be used with great caution and only in the right circumstances. Marriage is ordained of God between a man and a woman and this is just the way it is. We may take a vote on the law of gravity and no matter the outcome, we will still fall. We may take a vote on the moral correctness of gay marriage, but it is still wrong. Show more Show less
