Hi I'm Nate

I'm from Arizona. I'm serving a mission in Tahiti. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My parents were divorced when I was very young. I went to a different school almost every year until high school. I graduated from Red Mountain High School in 2009. I have a passion for learning and my hobbies have included volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, reading, writing, and preparing for my mission, among other things. I lived with my dad in South Carolina for a year before my mission and worked at Denny's so save money for my mission. I am now in the Missionary Training Center preparing to serve in Tahiti. After my mission, I want to go to school and become an architect. I try not to be afraid of anything. I don't know what adventures lie ahead, but I will go wherever the Lord leads me and enjoy the ride.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know I have a Father in Heaven who loves me; because I know He sent His Son to pay my debt so that I can return to live with Him again; because I know that He loves His children today just as much as He did in times of old, and He still speaks to us. I know He speaks to His children because He speaks to me—not with a booming voice from the sky—but with simple thoughts and impressions. He has told me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is exactly what it claims to be: The true church of Jesus Christ, restored to the earth in these last days. Every time I read the Book of Mormon and pray, I know in my heart that it is the truth. I know that the man who translated it, Joseph Smith, was truly a prophet of God, and I know that this truly is His church. My life belongs to Him. I am a Latter-Day Saint. I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now my whole life is about living my faith to the fullest. Here in the Missionary Training Center, I am constantly studying so that I can share the gospel with my brothers and sisters in Tahiti. Even before I came here, though, I enjoyed studying the scriptures and I always prayed to know what my Heavenly Father wanted me to do. I will continue to study and pray throughout my life. As I do my part to draw near to my Heavenly Father and my Savior, and to continue to learn about Their gospel, I am blessed with happiness, peace, joy, and guidance in my life. I know that I am doing exactly what God wants me to do, and as long as I continue to study, pray, and follow the direction of the Holy Ghost, I know I will never go astray and I will be an instrument in the Lord's hands to help many of His children.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The Holy Ghost will tell you it is true. God is not only the Creator of the universe, He is our loving Heavenly Father. If the gospel that we believe is true, then all you have to do is ask Him. Pray to your Eternal Father. Ask Him if you are indeed His child. Ask Him if the Mormons are right about Him and His gospel. If you don't have a copy of the Book of Mormon, get one. If you have a copy of the Book of Mormon, read it. Find out what we believe. Then turn to Him and sincerely ask if what you read is true. If it is, He will answer you by the power of the Holy Ghost. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God, and that it was translated from an ancient record by a true prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that you can too if you just read it and ask God to tell you whether it is true. Show more Show less
