Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a mother of four beautiful children (one recently passed away). I enjoy reading and cooking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my best friend for nine years. We love to play games, eat dessert, and go on walks together. Before I got married, I graduated from BYU with a degree in Human Development. And now I put my education to use by being a full-time mom. I love staying home with my children. I love to read with them, do chores together, and watch them play. I recently started running, which is a first for me. I'm not going very far or very fast, but I feel better than I ever have! When the house is quiet, I like to read. I mostly read history and nonfiction books. I just finished reading the "Little House on the Prairie" series, which I loved!

Why I am a Mormon

Recently, my fourth child passed away. It has been a tremendously difficult time for me. I don't understand why my daughter died, but I know that Heavenly Father loves me and that He has a plan for my growth. I still miss my little girl and long to be with her. However, I know that because Jesus Christ was resurrected and overcame death, all of God's children will be resurrected, and I will get to be with my little girl again. My belief in Jesus Christ has brought me a lot of comfort. Surprisingly, the day of her funeral, I was filled with great joy and peace because I know that I will see her again. I was raised in a Latter-day Saint home, where my parents encouraged me to live the teachings of Jesus. Growing up, I found comfort in reading the scriptures and I believed what I read. I felt sure that Heavenly Father heard my prayers and that he loved me. These early experiences helped my faith to grow. I have discovered, over and over again, that the more closely I follow Jesus Christ, the happier I am.

How I live my faith

As a full-time mother, I have the opportunity to influence and teach my children every day. Our family tries really hard to read the scriptures together every evening. I feel like taking the time to learn the teachings of Jesus makes it easier for me to help my children live the way He taught us to live. In my ward, I make visits to families in need and coordinate efforts to help them. Sometimes they need a meal or a babysitter. Sometimes they need a friend or a listening ear. Sometimes they need help with physical tasks. I really enjoy visiting with people and letting them know that I care. This kind of service is so rewarding and makes me feel like my life has purpose and meaning.
