Hi I'm Vicki Sue

I'm a homemaker who enjoys spending time with my family.

About Me

My husband and I have an "empty nest" now, but are enjoying the friendships of our adult children. I went back to college and earned an Associates degree a few years ago, but choose to focus on genealogical research rather than a career. I enjoy gardening, playing the piano and all the facets of homemaking. I'm very interested in current events, and am always anxious to read about and research interesting topics. My husband is my very best friend. Over the years we have enjoyed playing tennis, camping, kayaking, skiing and participating in dramatic and musical theatrical presentations together.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my parents don't believe in organized religion, their lives have been examples of love and integrity. However, I was continually searching for truth about the meaning of life. For as long as I can remember, I knew that I loved Jesus Christ. After researching many religions I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by a girl friend and soon after received the missionary lessons. When I read the Book of Mormon, I knew it was true. I have found peace and joy in this path, and enjoy the friendships I have cultivated within the church. My desire to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ has found its fulfillment in my church membership.

How I live my faith

Two of my favorite scriptures have set the pattern for how I live my faith. "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." (D&C 6:36) and "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men... feasting on the word of Christ..." (2 Nephi 31:20) I'm convinced that Heavenly Father is a 'prayer away' at all times and that as I receive guidance through The Holy Spirit, I can be directed and protected at all times. Whenever I'm struggling with something, I open the scriptures and find direction and comfort. I make mistakes constantly and have many weaknesses, but I have confidence that as a result of the gift of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can continually repent and one day live with my family in God's presence. With this knowledge I live my faith with a joyful and grateful heart. I presently oversee education, provident living and missionary work in our local church woman's organization.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Vicki Sue
This was my first introduction to Mormonism; I heard that Mormon's worship Joseph Smith. I have learned that Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God, the Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We are grateful to The Prophet Joseph Smith for his role as an instrument in God's hands in restoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this last dispensation. I admire Joseph Smith and look forward to enjoying his friendship in the eternities. Show more Show less
