Hi I'm Randy

I was raised in the San Francisco Bay area of California. I am a manufacturing and operations executive. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with three adult age children and three grandchildren. My wife an I have been married for 34 years. I life in Oregon area and moved here the bay area of California. I have enjoyed the pacific northwest including the rain. I enjoy playing my keyboard with classic rock music from the 60's and 70's.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a mormon although I lived in a California city that had only a hand full of other mormons in high school. I had to find out for myself if I really believed what I had been taught by my parents and church. My testimony has grown year after year. I have a very strong testimony of Jesus Christ. I strive to learn more about him and try to follow his example. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the most knowedge and information about the Savior. I know that this is His church.

How I live my faith

I am a leader in my community. I am responsible for 2500 fellow members. I meet with other leaders weekly (or more often) to plan and organize our congregation to meet the needs of our children, youth, young adults, parents, and senior members. I strive to set a good example for others. I also visit 3 or more families a week to encourage them in what ever challenges they are facing.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Randy
I believe that the purpose of life is to provide us with opportunities to grow, learn and develop our personal character. We are also are to seek the Lord and follow him. This includes keeping His commandments, and entering into eternal covenants with Him. Even though we each have individual experiences that are unique, the Lord wants to return to live with our Heavenly Father again with our families. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Randy
I know that I am a Christian. He is my savior. It makes me sad to think that others question whether or not I am a Christian. I am trying to follow Him to the best of my ability. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Randy
Most members will wear their nicer clothes to our church meetings. For me this includes a white shirt and conservative tie with a suit. It is very common for men to wear a sport coat and slacks instead of a suit. In our family we celebrate the major holidays, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. The easter bunny is welcome on Easter and Santa Claus is welcome on Christmas. We get together as family as much as possible. Show more Show less
