Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a wife, a mom, and a new grandma, so life is pretty much complete! I love life, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love America, and learning about her; where we've been and where we're going. I love to read, to be taken to places and into peoples lives that make me want to be a better person. I cheer for the Utah Jazz and love football. I enjoy playing the piano and singing. I love country music, horses, and being a occasional ranch hand on my uncle's farm in Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is the reason for everything I do. My relationship with my Father in Heaven, gives me the foundation and desire to make my home an environment that hopefully allows them to thrive. The Gospel of my Savior Jesus Christ, gives me principles that guide my life and in return help me guide the lives of my children. When I'm living the way He has shown me, His spirit can quietly guide and inspire me in all aspects of my life. I know He lives, I know He loves me. I am His child. He knows me. He wants the best for me. That doesn't mean there won't be trials and challenges that try me to my limit; but it does mean that He will always be there guiding and comforting me and helping me learn from those trials. He paved the way, He knows all I have or will experience, physically, mentally, or emotionally. He came to earth and suffered all things. I am never alone, because He suffered and understands all. What comfort this gives me during those seemingly insurmountable times of life. He lives, He loves me, He loves you.

How I live my faith

The more I keep the commandments, the happier I am. It's exponential. When I falter and loose focus of His teachings, life is more difficult, guilt and unhappiness creep in. The world would have me focus on myself, to seek gratification through short lived potentially harmful experiences. I have found living the gospel and it's principles brings me happiness & peace of mind, what a gift! Especially in today's world where there is not a lot of peace to be found. The gospel keeps my family close, keeps us striving for a common goal, a common purpose...to return to our Father in Heaven.
