Hi I'm Maresa

I'm a Californian who loves people, laughter, music, and art. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student finishing my degree in Physical Therapy and looking forward to graduating in May. I love to be in the outdoors playing sports, hiking, snowboarding, etc. I especially love ultimate frisbee and racquetball. I also enjoy being with family and friends. I have 2 older sisters and 3 younger brothers as well as being the proud auntie of the cutest kids this world has ever seen. One of my favorite things is playing with my niece and nephews, they provide hours of entertainment and exhaust me with all their energy.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 years old I decided to read the Book of Mormon in its entirety and ask God if it was true. I would pray each night I read. When I was near the end of the book, I came to a promise given to all who read the book. This promise was written by Moroni and stated that if after reading the book, if one asked God if it was true with a sincere heart, real intent, and faith in Christ that He would manifest the truth to them by the power of the Holy Ghost. After reading this promise I prayed more earnestly and with greater faith. That evening I received a witness that the book was true by a feeling that coursed through my body and verified the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon to me. Since then I have felt the feelings of the spirit of peace, joy, comfort, and truth as I read and try to live my life as a follower of Christ. I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and know that He lives. I love to learn more about Him through the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I know that God hears and answers our prayers and that we can return to live with Him and our families after this life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service to those around me and by trying to be a disciple of Christ in my words, choices, and actions.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Maresa
The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. It testifies, as does the Bible, that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world. Through reading it as well as the Bible, one is able to learn more about Christ, His teachings, His ministry, His attributes, His purpose, and his Atonement. God is not only the God of one nation, or only the God to the people in Bible times, but is the God of everyone who lives on the earth. He is our Father in heaven. Consequently he hears the prayers of and gives direction to all who seek Him. The Book of Mormon is God's dealings with the people of ancient America. The first book starts at about 600 BC and the last book ends in 421 AD. Its purpose is to bring people closer to Christ. Show more Show less
