Hi I'm Chase

I love sports, health, computers, family, and my savior. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just a guy that wants to do good things. I am married and have a daughter that will be born in a matter of days. I'm also a student with just under a year to get my bachelors. I love to play sports but not really watch them a whole lot. I really like to read anything but the text books I often find myself reading in school.

Why I am a Mormon

As I keep learning in the church and doing my best to really understand the doctrine and principles in the church, it leads me down a continual path of learning about and loving my Savior and God. This discovery or breakthrough started after a very long week of suffering and trials for me. I came to realize that even though I was a Mormon, I did not have a testimony of Christ, God, prophets, or even the spirit. I thought to myself, what am I doing all this suffering for anyway?! For all I know, this whole church is a joke! The next thought was simple. Do what they have always said, pray. So I knelt in prayer staring it with something like, "alright God, if your there, I really need to know." What followed is the most sacred and personal experience of my life. An overwhelming, tear invoking, witness that He lived and loved me. I left my knees that night feeling like a giant among my trials. That passionate and intimate feeling has been one of my staples throughout my life since. A few weeks later, i realized that i had received a witness that He lived but not that being a Mormon was right. With confidence and passion I found myself praying again to God for an understanding. Then through a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, impossible to describe or explain, I found myself feeling an overwhelming confidence of the Book of Mormon. Those to experiences have shaped my life. I go through each day with confidence and faith seeking for more of the knowledge that the Lord seems so eager to give me. I have grown close to him and passionately want others to feel the same. I am a Mormon because I have asked God, through His Sons name, if it were right.

How I live my faith

There is nothing that can compare to the feeling you can get from serving others. Though I miss many opportunities, I try my best to serve others in any way that I can. I served a 2 year mission or in other words, gave religious and MANY times physical service to two countries in West Africa, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Naturally, I came to love those countries and the people there. I have served in a few areas locally but am currently giving service as a clerk that helps with all the records for the my local church group or ward. In my position, I feel that I gain more from my service than any one around me. There are so many great people that I get to associate with and learn from. I get so many opportunities to serve because I am always moved around to different positions in the ward as we each share our service. Above that though, I love being a home teacher. I get to go to a couple families homes and learn from them. They teach me and I teach them. We learn to love and care for one another and its far more personal and fun.
