Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon. Became an active member when I was in junior high

About Me

I'm a mom of four. Three boys and one girl. I love drawing, painting, sewing and just about any craft. I've taken these interest and made a small business of decorating apparel with custom embroidery, screen printing and rhinestones. I enjoy the creative part of my business. And I love working with my great clients.

Why I am a Mormon

When a friend of mine invited me to Mutual (The girls & boys program of the church) I wondered why all these kids liked going to church so much. Every week they would take roll and I would say "here". All the other kids would say "here two". I asked what that meant and it was them taking role for that meeting along with Sunday School and the evening meeting called Sacrament. Why would perfectly normal kids go to so much church. So I started going to their Sunday School. I was like a sponge. Everything the teacher was teaching was so familiar, but new to me at the same time. They more I went and learned the more it all made so much sense. I started reading the book of Mormon and felt that the Savior knew me and loved me dearly. I desired to become more like my Savior, and made the commitment to follow him, because of all that he had done for me. I started going to early morning seminary, all my Sunday meetings and weekday meetings. The more I learned the more I felt his love and guidance. When we would sing, or heard the leaders I felt the Holy Ghost witness to me the truthfulness of the Gospel. I've been blessed through some very difficult things in my young life and contribute it to my activity with the church. I know this church is true. And I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I am the secretary in the woman's organization of the church. The sister visit each other, help each other at difficult times, and do so many great services of kindness for each other. I love the spirit that we have as sisters and enjoy serving with and for the great ladies in our area.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We don't worship Joseph Smith. He was the prophet that received the ancient records called the golden plates. With the divine help from the Lord he was able to translate the plates to a book called the Book of Mormon. This is why we have the nick name "Mormons". But this is why he is highly spoken of.
