Hi I'm Sheryl

I'm Samoan and German. Born and raised in southern California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am half Samoan and half German. I have one older brother and a bunch of cousins that I am very close with. I was married and sealed for time and all eternity in the San Diego Temple in June 2012. I am a recent college graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Health Science for Community Health Promotion and Education, I am now back in school trying to get my second Bachelors in Nursing. I plan to become a trauma or surgical RN. My hobbies include going to the movies with my friends, going to the beach, wakeboarding, watching sports (football and basketball). I am usually very busy with going to school full-time and working as a waitress part-time, but i always find time to have fun with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has played a huge role in how I became the woman I am today. As I face trials in my life I have been blessed with the eternal perspective. Knowing that my Savior atoned for my sins and provided a way for families to be together for eternity has brought peace in times of sorrow and hope in times of despair. My mom was raised in the church and has been faithful throughout her life and has raised my older brother and I in the church. My dad is not a member and although throughout my childhood he was never very fond of the mormon church, he has now expressed how thankful he is that my brother and I were able to grow with such great values and guidelines that the church had provided for us in such crucial times of our lives. Heavenly Father has proven to me that he is really there and that he loves me. I am so grateful for the life I have been given and for the blessing of being raised in the church. Although I was raised in the church, I did not truly gain my testimony of this gospel until later in my youth. I truly believe that I would not be on the path I am on today if it weren't for the gospel in my life. I am thankful for the opportunity to be sealed for time and all eternity to the love of my life and know that our family will be together forever. I can honestly say that I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel and of the Book of Mormon as another testament of our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Before I went to the YSA Young Single Adult ward I was a primary teacher. I taught the 7 and 8 year old children. In the YSA ward, I taught Gospel Doctrine for 2 years. Now my husband and I attend a married student ward at BYU in Provo Utah.
