Hi I'm Tora.

I grew up on a potato farm. I'm a wife and stay-at-home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 children. I have always wanted to be a wife and mother and I am truly living my dream! Staying at home with them- I'll admit is challenging- but I know there is nothing outside of my home I could achieve that would matter more. I love to play the piano, read, run and play sports. Riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, pretending I'm a kid again-I love this!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt in my heart over and over again the truthfulness of the gospel. This feeling is good and makes me want to learn more about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and follow His example. I want my children to have this source of strength in their life more than anything. I know that Jesus Christ is the head of this church and that He leads and guides us through the prophet. I know that He is aware of us and hears our prayers. This knowledge and testimony is the meaning in my life and helps me to focus on things that are most important. I know that families can be together forever through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to pray and read my scriptures every day. I seem to have more patience and it makes a big difference when I make that effort. We have family home evening each week in which we discuss gospel principles and doctrine. Then we have a family game and eat treats. We attend church on Sunday. I have been asked to teach the 4 year olds during sunday school and they always make me smile. I also visit teach four sisters each month who I can get to know on a personal level and that has been a great blessing in my life. Living my faith helps me to feel God's love for me and all of His children.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Tora.
I think Mormon Church services are very special. You will find people and families of all walks of life and from every background. Members of the congregation are given the opportunity to participate, (in advance with the opportunity to say no) and so it is different each week. We have music, prayers, the sacrament, and speakers. I love it! As a mom with young children I sometimes feel like I am wrestling and shushing more than listening but instead of glaring at me I find that people are often offering a hand or a book. Anyone is welcome to attend our church meetings! I would be glad to sit by you if you don't mind smashed cheerios. Show more Show less
