Hi I'm Katelynn

I'm a wife and mother. I'm a piano performer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mom of two wonderful little kids. My oldest is a girl, my youngest a boy. We also have one on the way. We enjoy spending our days together learning, having adventures, playing with friends, and sometimes just being lazy. My husband is in graduate school to become a doctor of chiropractic. We are very passionate about health and wellness in our home. I got my undergrad degree at BYU-Idaho in piano performance. Music is a big part of our lives. I don't only love music though. I love the outdoors. I love sports. I love to read. I really enjoy crafts. Most importantly though, I love being a wife and mother. My husband is my closest friend and makes me laugh often. Our children are our joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I think what it all comes down to is the fact that God has restored his church on the earth today with the same organization that it had when Christ was on the earth. He has restored his priesthood power to the earth and there are once again living prophets to lead us. Through that priesthood power comes many blessings. Most important to me are the covenants I have been able to make with my Heavenly Father. I know that I was baptized through his priesthood authority. I know that I was married through that same authority. Because of this my marriage is not "until death do you part," but will extend throughout eternity if we remain faithful. My children will be my children forever. My husband will be my companion forever. I know that God not only spoke to prophets of old, but he speaks today through living prophets. I love that I have the opportunity to hear his voice and be guided by him today through the mouth of his servants. In a world that is growing increasingly darker, God's voice is again heard to lead us to his truth. God lives, Jesus Christ lives, they want us to return to live with them again and they have restored the church in our day so that we can make the covenants we need to make in order to return to their presence. The Mormon church does not take away from any other denomination. It does not say that any other church is wrong. They all have elements of truth. The Mormon church simply completes them and brings the fullness of the truth back so that there does not need to be confusion about God's doctrines. I know this is the Lord's church. I know it with absolute certainty. He speaks today through his prophets. His priesthood authority is again upon the earth. There are once again temples where sacred ordinances and covenants may be performed, just like in biblical times. In the temple we can learn how to live so that we may return to God's presence and dwell with our families for eternity. This truth is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I seek to live my faith through service. The Lord is not here on the earth to bless his children so he depends on us to be his hands. I believe my most important service is within the walls of my own home. I feel honored that God has entrusted some of his precious children to my care. Creating a home environment for them where they can feel his spirit and remember that they are his children is something I strive for daily. Also, I love being a loyal companion to my husband and supporting him as he works hard to support us. He is my best friend. Outside of my home I serve and am a teacher to the young women, ages 12-18, at church. I strive to love them, encourage them to have high standards in a world that is tearing them down, and help them understand who they are as daughters of God. There is so much evil in the world. God needs his children to be a light in the darkness. I hope I can do that a little better each day. I'm far from perfect but I hope others can feel Heavenly Father's love through me.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Nope, I know it. I have heard him speak. I know the words he spoke were from God. God has always sent prophets to guide his children, in every time. Why would he stop speaking now when we need it most? The world is growing increasingly darker, but we again have a prophet to guide us to peace and joy, just as in biblical times. Joseph Smith was the first prophet in our day. Thomas S. Monson is his living prophet now. Show more Show less
