Hi I'm Rodney

I grew up in Utah but now live in Georgia, where I served my mission.

About Me

I live in Georgia with my wife of 23 years and my 3 kids. 2 boys and 1 girl. Our oldest son is married so my wife and I also have a daughter-in-law and 1 granddaughter. One of the great blessings in our lives is the fact that we are sealed to our family for all eternity. I have a great wife that has survived Breast Cancer and still keeps going and taking care of us. That was probably the 1 biggest trial that we have had to face. The 2 things that really helped with that trial is our large extended family and our faith in the healing power of God. I work as the Chief Engineer for several office buildings and as an HVAC technician. I play racquetball 2 or 3 nights a week. I help coach our youngest son's baseball team. My boys and I like to hunt, fish and spend time outside together. My daughter is a great singer and occasionally we sing together at church and other activities. We are just a regular family that does regular things. The only thing that makes us different is our faith in Jesus Christ and our testimonies of His Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life. I learned at an early age what it means to be a member of this church but my actual conversion did not occur until I served my mission. Even though we have always been members we still have to have that spiritual experience that tells us that this is Christ's church and gospel. I have a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I know the Gospel is true. I also have a very strong testimony of the Priesthood of God and the power it has to heal those who have the faith to believe. I know that we have a Prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson and that Joseph Smith and all the other Prophets have been called of God to lead us back to Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I know these things and could not deny them.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the church when I was 19 years old in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. I am now serving with the older men in the ward but I have spent most of my adult life teaching the youth of our church. I have also been a part of the leadership of our ward (congregation). One of my favorite things I have done is teach Seminary which is an early morning gospel study class for 14-18 year old boys and girls. In our area the young people meet before school (6:30 pm) and get a spiritual uplift before they face the trials of the world.
