Hi I'm Jeff

I have a wife and 4 children and live in the northwest United States. I work in Information Technology and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the father of 4 wonderful children of whom I am very proud. My wife and I have been married 29 years and we love living in the northwest with all the outdoor adventures it has to offer. My passions include backpacking and kayaking as well as riding my motorcycle on long winding back roads. One of my greatest pleasures is spending time with my two young grandchildren who live just five minutes away.

Why I am a Mormon

My spiritual journey began many years ago as a young man in high school. My best friend was a great example of what it means to live a Christ-like life and that caused yearnings in me to find my own spiritual roots. In the hope of filling that void I attended the services of many different churches over the next several years, including my sister's. However, it wasn't until I learned of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that all the pieces of God's plan came together for me in a clear, simple and concise way. Those pieces fell into place like a great puzzle that reveals a beautiful picture when complete. The Spirit witnessed to me that God speaks to us in our day through His chosen apostles and prophets just as it was anciently. It stirred my soul to learn that I lived with my Heavenly Father before this life and that I can return to Him again with my family after this life. Assured that this is what He wanted me to do, I committed to baptism when I was 21years old and a junior in college. Many might think that's where my journey ended. In reality, it just began. Everyday is a new adventure as I face the challenges of life. Whereas before, those challenges would bring fear and doubt, now I face them with hope and optimism knowing that my Savior, Jesus Christ, will make me equal to the task. I now have an eternal perspective of things. I have now found true happiness.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve in many different capacities in the church throughout the years. It's been my pleasure to watch over a small number of families that I've been assigned in our local congregation. My monthly visits with them are designed to provide any help they may need whether spiritual or temporal. In times past I've also worked with young men ages 12 to 18 years of age. Lately I've been serving amongst the older men to help them understand their responsibilities to church, family and others. I am also involved in many service projects including helping members move out of their houses, yard work, needed home repairs, or sometimes just visit someone.
