Hi I'm Waldo Wallace (Wally) Pierce

I 'm from Turlock and now live in So Calif. I'm an accountant , enjoy the outdoors and love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been an accountant most of my life and am now retired from the regular 8 to 5 and active. I am striving to build an internet business from my home. I have raised a family of 3 daughters and one son. I have always been active in sports and presently I bowl on a team and carry an average of 170. In the past I was an avid skier and loved it and I just may get back on the slopes again in the not too distant future! I was also a pretty fair soft-ball player and could swing a bat quite well, never much of a home-run hitter but I could place the ball very well and even take extra bases now & then! I enjoy challenges and always try to do my best

Why I am a Mormon

I am 84 years of age and have been a member since I was 45. Took me that long to find the true gospel and I haven't looked back. .I love that the church has given me, new life. I am looking forward to becoming even more active in church and expect to do a lot of traveling. When I first found the Church, I was very cautious as I had searched for many years for the true church, many, many different denominations and had just about given up on finding what I was looking for. One day a member of the Church asked me if I liked to dance and my immediate reaction was positive. I couldn’t believe that any church would allow dancing in it’s own building, having been brought up in a Pentecostal religion. Well that did it, I had to know more about this belief and began meeting with the missionaries, and the rest is history

How I live my faith

Even before I knew anything about the LDS Church, I have always known that Jesus Christ and His Heavenly Father were real people, just like you and I. This I had no doubts about. When I started reading and learning about the Mormon Church, it all started to make sense when I learned that this church also believed the same thing. My problem was that after so many years searching for the truth, it took awhile to fully realize that this is truly the Church talked about in the New Testament when we were told that Jesus Christ would one day return and re-establish His Church! Now my sole goal is to try to the best of my ability to follow in His path. There is no way I will ever be able to come close to living my life as Jesus did when He was here on earth. But I do know that as long as I am doing my best to follow His example and when I slip up, He has given us the law of repentance and I can be forgiven!

How does the Church finance its operations?

Waldo Wallace (Wally) Pierce
Being an accountant, this is one the things that impressed me, was how well organized this Church is. I have never known another organization or business that was so well structured and run so smoothly! The reason being is that our Savior, Jesus Christ actually manages this Church through His Prophet which currently is Thomas S. Monson. All areas of the Church are directed by Him by revelation directly through our Prophet. When you do realize this, it is no wonder our Church runs so smoothly! The Tithing paid by the members is sent directly to Church Headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah and is then disbursed where ever needed. The Church also has store-houses in strategic locations throughout the world for emergencies. This is how the Church is able to help anywhere in the world in a moment’s notice, when needed Show more Show less
