Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a Mormon. Much of who I am and what I do is centred around my place in a family. I help care for aging parents, I support and serve my husband and children. I am very involved in the lives of my grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy playing the harp, painting, baking, exercising and getting out into nature. The gospel of Jesus Christ allows me to take these wonderful family relationships into the next life. I am sealed for time and all eternity to my parents, siblings, my husband and my children. This sealing power makes a sacred chain that can bind me to my ancestors and to my posterity forever. This chain gives me hope, strength, courage, and the fortitude to face the challenges of this life. It also gives me purpose and a vision of eternity in a family setting. This chain links us together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had a spiritual witness that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. This knowledge did not come all at once in a blinding moment of truth, but has come to me, "line upon line, precept upon precept" as I have strived to live the gospel. Over the years, with each new principle I have learned and tried to put into my life I have had a spiritual witness of the truths of the gospel as taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through the service I stirve to give each day. Whether it be tending a grandchild, making rolls for a sick neighbor or friend, taking my mother in law to the Dr., helping my husband with his work, listening to a young adult as they talk of their concerns and problems, or playing the harp for a church service. I have also had the opportunity to serve a mission with my husband for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe that it is not only the big things, but it is also in the small, everyday things I do to serve others that enables me to show my faith and serve my Savior.
