Hi I'm Jared

I was born and raised in Cali. I love to skate and play some volleyball and soccer. I love to take pictures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I am Jared Montiel. I am a part of a family of six (including myself). I consider myself the middle child in my family although I am the second youngest in this family. Having an older brother and sister and also a younger brother has put me in that spot. I guess that is really why I am a outgoing person and just random. I like to do things our of the blue. I grew up in Southern California all my life and I love the home that I made there. Since I was a little kid, the family sport that I had was volleyball. Me and my siblings have gotten along and grown together with it as well as playing soccer. I played volleyball for almost my whole life and it truly helps me get ride of stress and lets me stay at ease. I also use my skateboard everywhere I go cause it's my way of trasportation. I also love to take photos. In the ending of my Middle School to High School years, I was called "The Mormon" in between my friends.I openly have told them about my beliefs and I really did not find it as an insult cause it truly who I was. It is something that I am greatful for because I received true friends that respected me for being Mormon. Some have expressed to me that I have been a rolemodel for them. I can't say that that didn't please me but really it helped me understand how I have helped other people. I really love to give service and to help those that do need help. I want to be a engineer when i grow up. I have paused my studies in BYU to serve my Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of parents that were both members of the church. I was raised there and learned about its teachings. I really didn't know much about other churches except the Catholic church. Even though I was raised in the church, I didn't know if it was true in the very beginning but I never doubted what I was being taught. It all made sense and when I did have a question I knew I could receive an answer to it. It gave me a sense of direction in life and also what my potential can be. It has taught me who I am and what is expected of me because of it. I have had many experiences that have let me know of the truth of this church. My first one that I will never forget happened with me and my youth group and leader. We were all reading the Book of Mormon in a group. When we finished Moroni 10, our leader asked us to pray to know if this book was true. We all did and we felt it in our hearts through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in Texas McAllen Mission for two years. Some of my friends have always asked me why I am giving up two years of my life to "ride bikes." My simple answer to them was cause I love my Heavenly Father and that I wanted to help others to come feel the love that I have felt from Him. I know my friends ment good on asking me why. I just knew that giving these two years of my life to my God would greatly help me in my life but also to those people that I would be helping so they could come unto Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father like I have in my life. I really am doing all that I can to help people change their lives for the better by living the comandments that God has given us. It is really the only way to have a happier life here on this earth. Putting everything that I have learned into practice is how I live. There really isn't no other way. When I go back home and get married, I will teach my kids the way that my parents taught me. Also how they can find out for themselves if the Church of Jesus Christ of The Latter Day Saints is the true church here upon the earth.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe that our purpose is that we came here to be tested in order for us to live with our heavenly father again. Show more Show less
