Hi I'm Jaylan
I'm a PhD student with a family, and I'm a Mormon.
I grew up as a member of the Mormon Church in Arizona. I'm married with two children, and I'm working on a doctorate degree in Physics and Applied Math. I enjoy singing, camping, and playing with my children.
Why I am a Mormon
As a child I attended church with my family, but it became real for me when I was about ten years old. I accepted a challenge from my Sunday school teacher to read from the scriptures on my own. One evening I was sitting on my bed reading in the Book of Mormon when one of the passages caught my interest. As I was reading it, an acute sense of peace and warmth filled my heart. I knew then that God was aware of me and loved me deeply. From that experience and many others since, I have come to know our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that He understands and loves each of us individually, and that He will send his Holy Spirit to teach and guide us when we strive to follow His teachings. This knowledge and guidance have supported me through the many difficulties that life brings, and I hope that through the grace of Christ I can endure to the end and live with God again.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by reading the scriptures and communicating often with my Heavenly Father through prayer. I seek opportunities to help those around me, and I strive to be more Christlike each day. I put my best effort into everything I do at home, school, work and church.
