Hi I'm Trent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up working on a farm. In high school I played football, ran track and cross country, and wrestled. I served a 2-year mission in Chile. After I graduated from college I worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as an intern before going to dental school. I recently graduated from A.T. Still University: Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health. I am currently a dentist and a captain in the U.S. Air Force. I have a beautiful wife and two handsome little boys.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized when I was eight years old. At that point in time I was given the gift of the Holy Ghost. This has been a guiding influence for me in my life. The Spirit has helped me make right choices. I served a 2-year mission in Chile. While there I was able to make many new friends and bring others unto Christ. We taught people about the church and how to better follow Jesus Christ. He is the best example for all of us. As we try and become more like him we become better. What I love about the church is that it teaches values and has a big focus on the family. Everyone, especially kids, needs values. The world seems to be getting worse and we need something to combat those bad influences. By living the standards set forth by the church I was able to avoid many of these pitfalls. Avoiding things like drinking alcohol and smoking has been a great benefit in my life. I grew up in a large family and now I have a family of my own. My wife and little boy are the most important things in my life. I am grateful to know that I was married in a temple of the Lord for time and all eternity. This brings me great comfort. I know that Jesus Christ formed a church when he was on this earth with prophets and apostles. After His death and resurrection the apostles were killed and the world fell into a dark time known as the apostasy. In our days He has brought back the same church. Our church has a prophet and apostles who receive direction from our Heavenly Father and then tell us that information so that we can live better lives. The only way to know if something is right is to search, ponder, and pray. I know that God answers prayers. He loves us because we are His children. It is possible for us to return to live with Him if we make the right choices in this life. I am so thankful to be a member of this church. It has brought me all the happiness in the world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I attend church each week and partake of the sacrament. By doing this I renew the covenants I made with God when I was baptized. I have always enjoyed participating in service activities. The church offers many opportunities to serve. Growing up we were always doing service projects for people in the community. Serving a 2 year mission in Chile was one of the ways I was able to give back. As a missionary I was constantly teaching people the gospel of Jesus Christ and how to incorporate it into their lives. Within the church I have been assigned to teach the kids as well as the youth. In college I was able to plan activities for those who attended the church in my area. I was also able to teach Sunday School as well as those who were preparing to serve a mission. In the last few years I have been able to go out and visit members of the church when they are new to the area. With others we have also visited members of the church who no longer attend church. We are always inviting them to participate in activities and to attend church. We are also assigned to visit specific families each month. This has been a great way to get to know people and to serve them by bringing them a spiritual message and offering our help whenever they need it. My wife and I try to read our scriptures each day and we have family night on Monday night. This brings us closer to the Lord and thus closer together as a couple. We enjoy having and teaching our little son. We look forward to the years to come as we teach him the commandments of God and how to follow them. We pray as a couple and as a family each day. We also show our devotion to God by paying our tithing each month. We give 10% of what we earn to the church which can then be used to further the gospel. The blessings we receive are wonderful. We love being members of the church and we love serving others.
