Hi I'm Nick

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I am a contract software engineer. I work from home near beautiful Seattle, Washington. I spend my time writing software for the iPhone and Android cell phone platforms. My specialty is creating cell phone applications and integrating them with websites. I really enjoy keeping on the cutting edge of software development. I enjoy getting out and hiking on a regular basis. I have a deep love affair with the trees and scenery in this part of the country and getting out into nature helps me to calm down and feel closer to Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 40 and have been through quite a lot with the church in the past 10 years. I think the best way of putting it is that I have been and continue to go through "the refiner's fire." It's been a process of change for me and doing the things that I need to do to come closer to Heavenly Father. It hasn't always been easy but I have faith that I am doing the right thing despite the trials and tribulations I have been through. If you want to find out if the church is for you, there are a few simple things you can do. The first is to pray to God with a sincere heart and ask Him. Ask Him if this is the path that you should be on, ask Him if He loves you. The answer will be clear and convincing. Of that I have no doubt.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures every morning. I say my prayers daily. I also pray throughout the day regarding problems I may be having. Like when I'm having a really hard time solving a software problem, I'll pray for help. I try to make it to church every week. And most importantly, I try to obey the commandments. I just try to live my life in such a way that I have the companionship of the Holy Spirit which is what I need the most to guide me through difficult times.
