Hi I'm Alison.

I'm a happy wife and mother. I'm a triathlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful husband and three children. I love to run. I am getting better at swimming and cycling. I also enjoy camping, rock climbing, and bike riding with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a Mormon has always brought me great happiness and direction in my life. It is a way of life that I am very thankful I have to pass on to my children.

How I live my faith

Christ taught us to love others as ourselves. I am not very good at it, but I really, really try to look around a room and think about what other people might be going through at that moment instead of thinking about myself. Teaching my children about God and Jesus Christ is one of the most important things I will ever do. I try to show them through my example that I believe.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Alison.
Women don't hold the priesthood in the Mormon Church because we have plenty of other duties and responsibilities- one of the most important being the sacred responsibility of being mothers. I also serve as a Young Women's President for 35 girls. In this role, I make many, many decisions about the activities the girls participate in and the counsel that they receive. I also serve as a member of the Ward Council where I meet together with10 other leaders (men and women) in making many decisions in behalf of the 500 Mormons who live in our ward. Show more Show less
