Hi I'm Terressa

I grew up in Utah~I'm a mom to 3 grown but 2 still @ home children~I have Bipolar II disorder & Fibromyalgia. AND I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born into an LDS family; I have 1 sister & 1 brother (he was adopted from India). My dad was not active during my childhood. I grew up in a VERY abusive home, & have only recently began dealing with the effects of that abuse. I became an unwed mother to a handsome son when I was 18. I began college while living with my parents. When my son turned 1, I met the man that would become my husband. While in my 3rd year of college, our daughter was born while my husband was in Boot Camp (Army). We moved to Ft. Ritchie, MD, & spent 4 years there; I was EXTREMELY homesick the entire time; however, we learned that we always had each other through thick & thin. While living in Maryland, we were sealed as an eternal family in the Washington D.C. Temple! Out of challenging things come great blessings! After his 4 yrs were over, we moved back to Utah. When I was 27, I gave birth to our final child, another son. He is now almost 18 and has been diagnosed with Autism. Our eldest son just turned 27, and has struggled with Bipolar I disorder & Crohn's disease - he also struggles with addiction/abuse of Rx narcotic pain medication & currently lives with my parents. Our daughter, 24, was raped by an acquaintance 18 months ago, and has also been out of work~she lives with us & is preparing to start school. 10 yrs ago, I had an affair & was excommunicated. My husband & I divorced, but remarried 3 yrs later. We've worked hard to be worthy to be re-baptized & have our temple blessings restored

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because Jesus is THE Christ; my personal Savior & Redeemer (and YOURS). The Atonement of Jesus Christ is REAL ~ I have felt it; I have relied on it; I have clung to it; I have put it to the ultimate test! The 3 years I spent as an excommunicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were the blackest of my life. But Christ DOES save! I'm a Mormon because The Book of Mormon is true - it is literally THE WORD of GOD given to prophets that lived many, many years ago on the American continent. I have read it with sincere intent, I've studied it, I've prayed about whether or not it is true, and I have received a witness that it IS true! You can do the same thing...we ALL can - the promise to KNOW is made to EVERYONE. No, I didn't have any miraculous witness...just a peace, a warmness in my heart that it was true.

How I live my faith

My husband and I used to teach the 7 year old children - we thoroughly enjoyed this! But due to a recent major family crisis (and the pain from my recently diagnosed Fibromyalgia), we currently don't. I hope to be able to take a more active role in our ward & my neighborhood.
