Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon. My stepfather was in the service so we moved all over. I was born in N.C. but raised all over the US.

About Me

I am the mother of 2 wonderful daughters. I have 3 grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. I am an animal lover through and through. I own 2, a 5 pound Chihuahua and 1 cat. I am separated and 8 years ago moved from Michigan to Georgia to be near my oldest daughter. I now live in a small town in Georgia and I love it. After I retired I learned that I love to plant flowers and then watch them grow and bloom so I garden whenever I can. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love knowing that God the Father and our Savior Jesus Christ, love me and are always there for me. I look forward to going back home some day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a divorced mother with 2 children under 9 years of age when my LDS babysitter sent the Missionaries to me. I had been searching for a church to belong to for many years and when the Missionaries came I asked them a question I had been asking for a long time. I finally got an answer from those two young men and I immediatly started the lessons and attending church. Those two Missionaries opened the door to life for me and I have never looked back. I love the church and its teachings. I love Heavenly father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Every day of my life I am grateful for their love and blessings and the guidance of the Spirit.

How I live my faith

I have held many callings during my years as a member of the church and enjoyed every one of them. Right now I am a Relief Society teacher and a Visiting Teacher. I love teaching my lessons on the 4th Sunday of the month and to me Visiting Teaching is one of the most important callings in the church and I do my best to make sure I reach out to my Sisters every month and on their birthdays. I try to be there for my neighbors if they need anything. My car got old and was no longer fixable so now I have to depend on other people to take me where I need to go. I find that humbling but but I am learning more and more the importance of "handing my life over" to the care of my Heavenly Father and trusting that he knows best and has a plan for me.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A declaration of our belief in God the Father and his only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Our witness of their love and that Christ is the Creator and our Savior. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Absolutely not. We recognize him as the the person God The Father chose to establish the Lord's church on the earth again. Because of this we know he was a very special and blessed man. We look up to his example, leadership, and teachings but we do not worship him. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Pray with an open mind and a searching heart. Pray and ask just like the Epistle of James in Chapter 1and verse 5 tells us to do. Honestly ask of the Father and it will be known to you. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I certainly do and I am extremely happy that there is one. If any person has a doubt that our modern day Prophets are actually prophets, all they have to do is listen, with an open mind, to the Prophet talk and look into his eyes. His belief in and love for God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ is there to see and to hear in his words. Like Moses and other prophets he leads by the word and teachings of the Lord.
