Hi I'm David

I am a lawyer and a father of four. I enjoy reading a good book and watching inspiring movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Orem, Utah. After high school I served in the United States Marine Corp where I learned combat skills such as blowing up things and leadership. What an experience that was! Later I attended Brigham Young University where I earned a Bachelors of Arts and where I met my lovely wife. After college I entered Law School in Lansing, Michigan. I have been practicing in the area of Bankruptcy Law and Criminal Defense. My favorite things to do are to play games with my family, including the Wii. I also enjoy going on walks and exploring our neighborhood and community with my kids and wife. We also enjoy GeoCaching. My wife and I really enjoying eating out (alone and with our kids) and going to the movies. I like to read a good book, especially mystical or fantasy books. I almost can't go to sleep at night unless I have read a chapter from a book I enjoy. I hope one day to write my own fiction book.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were Mormons. I grew up learning doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I one day had to decide for myself why I am a Mormon. I came to know that the doctrines, principles and teachings of the Mormons are true. I love the feelings I receive being a member of this Church. It is more than being a member of a church, it's a life style. I am a Mormon every day of the week because it makes me feel good about myself. I just know in my heart that it is right.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a life long commitment. Every day I get up, get ready then spend time reading the scriptures. I feel it is as essential as having a good breakfast. Without that spiritual nourishment each day I feel less likely to be Christlike. I strive to be kind to everyone I come in contact with. On a weekly basis I attend church meetings and at least twice a month I attend the Temple. Another part of my everyday life is praying (day and night). I get down on my knees to express my gratitude to my Heavenly Father and ask him for guidance each day. Without prayer I believe I would not be able to function and get through the stresses of life.
