Hi I'm Taylor

I was born in Texas, am a Personal Banker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two young boys and a husband to the most beautiful woman in the world. I graduated from college about two years ago with a degree in HR Training and Development. I currently work for one of the largest banks in the United States as a Personal Banker. I love to be outside doing anything that keeps me active and on the edge. I wake board, surf, and love riding my road bike. I enjoy exercising and am training for some triathalons this summer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Grew up in the church and was baptised when I was eight. I went to church every Sunday but there came a time in my life that I needed to decide for myself if I believed that the Mormon church was the True church of Jesus Christ. I remember pulling into my garage one day and turning off the car and just praying out loud and asking God if this was the True church. Before I could even finish my prayer I had this overwhelming feeling that God knew me personally and wanted nothing more for me than to know that this was in fact the Church of Jesus Christ. It was almost as if God was saying, "You already know the answer." From that day my testimony has grown, not to say I haven't had my struggles, but I have never forgotten that moment. I served a mission in Brazil and was able to dedicate two years soley to bearing my testimony of the Savior and being one of his personal representatives. I know that The Church is true. I find such happiness in knowing that I can be with my family forever and that I have a loving Heavenly Father that sent His Son to die for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith like it is the most important Gift that has been given to me because it is. In my ward my calling is to work with the 16-18 year olds. This is such an incredible opportunity to work with these young men and to watch them learn and grow and prepare to go on missions themselves. Every week we have activities with the youth and it is my role to help the young men learn and grow. I am a home teacher, which allows me to go and visit other families that I go to church with and teach their families and make sure that all of their needs are getting taken care of.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Taylor
To answer the first part of this question I need to answer the second part first. Before we came to this life we lived with our Heavenly Father. In this "Pre-Existance" Heavenly Father presented his Plan to us. In this plan God needed someone to fulfill a large part of his plan. His son Lucifer came foward and said, "Send me but I will make everyone follow your plan and take away their free agency, and all glory will be mine." That was not what God wanted because this would not allow his children to learn and grow. Then stepped foward Jesus Christ and said," Send me I will allow your children to choose for themselves and all glory will be thine." So because God wanted his children to choose for themselves and learn and grow he knew that Jesus Christ was the right one to fulfill his plan. As a result of us having free agency on this earth we all make mistakes. It was necessary that there be an Atonement so that we can repent of those sins. Christ when he came to this earth "Atoned" for our sins or in other words took our sins upon him. Because of this we can repent of our mistakes and be forgiven. This is why the Atonement was necessary, without it we would be lost and forever stuck in sin. Show more Show less
