Hi I'm Adam Port

I am a two time Iraq War Veteran. I am a husband, and a father of two. I am an undergraduate Chemistry major. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Husband, and a father of two beautiful crazy children. I am a Veteran of the United States Air Force. I am a sophomore undergraduate student majoring in chemistry. I stay busy at the University as an Analytical research assistant, and as a Science and Math tutor for the school. I also work part time as an intern for a local company. I am in the Honors program and a member of the Gamma Beta Phi honor service society. I enjoy building legos with my son and taking walks with my daughter. I have recently taken up paintball and am loving it! I also love to travel and have been to almost every state in the United States, and several foreign countries.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but became inactive during my high school years. While my friends in the church were preparing to go on their missions, I fell further and further away from the gospel. I did not want to follow the gospel anymore and decided to go down another path. I joined the Air Force upon graduation from high school and went to basic training. While in the Air Force, I realized that something was missing in my life. I was not happy, nor was I the person that I wanted to be. I remembered how happy I was when I was active in the church, and decided to go back. Almost immediately after that decision, my life became filled with miracles, one of which was that I met my beautiful wife. We were married a time later in the Bountiful Temple. I continue to enjoy the blessings the gospel brings to my family and me. If doubt about the gospel ever enters my mind, I remember how unhappy my life was without it. I am grateful for the blessings that surround me every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best person that I can be. I am currently volunteer to help organize and unite the men in our ward. Our group enjoys working together to help out other members of our church and our community. Our congregation is actively involved in the community and recently participated in a large community food drive for our area. I also participate with several organizations at my school participating in things like highway cleanups and science education days for youth.
