Hi I'm Barbara McCoy

I am a Christian, a woman, a wife, a mother, a hard work, and a daughter of God.

About Me

I grew up in a little farming town in Utah. I moved pipes, picked cherries and peaches, and babysat when I was younger to earn money. I learned to work hard. I went to college after high school on scholarships. I like to go bike riding, hiking, reading and studying with my children, and go camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus are alive today and live in Heaven. They send their spirit, the Holy Ghost, to bless me, guide my life, and comfort me through my trials. I know they want me to live with them again some day. Jesus will come to the earth again, and I want to be ready to meet him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps me to learn to be a better person.

How I live my faith

I try to live the commandments so that I can be a good person and a good example. I teach my children to pray and to have faith. I am an Activity Day Leader for the 8-11 year old girls in our ward. I help organize activities to help the girls learn to have faith in God and want to follow Him. When someone needs help I try to help them.   I pray every day and read God's words in the scriptures and from living prophets so that I will know the path I should take to be happy and to return to Heavenly Father and Jesus,

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Barbara McCoy
"Mormons" believe in Jesus Christ, the Bible, and the Book of Mormon, which is another testimony of Jesus Christ from the people who lived on the American continent when Jesus appeared to them. Mormons believe in ancient prophets and in modern day prophets who can teach us what we need to know. Modern day prophets tell us to keep the commandments, live within our means, and get a good education so that we can support our families. When I was younger the prophet said that women should get a good education so that they could support their families if bad circumstances arose in their lives. That counsel has been a great blessing to me. Many people who didn't take the time to get a good education are having a hard time finding work because of the bad economy. It is not so hard on the people with good educations. I am blessed because I followed the prophet's counsel those many years ago. Show more Show less
