Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. By profession I am a nurse and social worker. I have travelled in my work and have lived in two foreign countries. I am interested in family history, sewing, gardening, and cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Protestant church, but I always had questions that my minister couldn't answer. I felt that there was something else somewhere. When I was in my mid twenties, and as a young mother, I watched General Conference on Television. The spirit of that broadcast captured my heart. I became interested in the Church and wanted to know more. Two Mormon missionaries came to our house and taught us about who we are, where we came from, and where we were going after death. They answered all the questions that I had about the Plan of Salvation. I eagerly read the Book of Mormon and prayed to Heavenly Father to see if what the missionaries had taught us was true. I received a quiet personal assurance that their teachings were true. I have been a member for over 45 years. That sweet testimony continues to be with me. My life has changed because of the Gospel. Even through trials I continue to have that sweet assurance that I am on the right path. I know that Heavenly Father lives and that he loves each one of us personally. I have a strong testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I bear solemn witness that what I have written here is true in the Sacred Name of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am a Family History Consultant and volunteer weekly in the local Family History Center. I have played the piano and organ at church for over 30 years. Currently, I volunteer in the women's organization, which offers compassionate service to those around us as well as our own church members. I also regularly visit several sisters in my Ward, making certain that they are well and that their needs are met. I am a Ham Radio operator and am active in the emergency communications network in my area.
