Hi I'm Lori

I'm just me and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was raised in Northern California but after returning from serving a mission in Alabama I moved to Arizona where I still live. I enjoy doing genealogy, gardening, surfing the internet and sewing. I love to sleep. I have grown to love the outdoors. That's if the weather is cool. I have also returned, after many years, to school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a single parent home. My mother was born in Utah but moved to Northern California when she was young. Both her mother and father came from families who lived in and settled Southern Utah. When her Family moved to California they became inactive. She married my dad and had five children. She always thought it was important to have her children recieve a name and a blessing which is done in the church when a child is an infant. She had each of her children blessed but was not active in the church. Sometime when I was quite young she became reactivated by a friend and thus began my membership in the church. As a young adult I recieved a testimony that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the same church and gospel that Christ taught during his mortal ministry. I was blessed to be able to serve as a missionary in Alabama. Through continued activity and participation in the church my testimony has grown. I testify that this church is the same church that existed when Christ was on the earth. He stands at the head of our church. Our Heavenly Father is aware of all of his children. He has something for each and everyone of us to accomplish. He desires for all of his children to know his mind and will. This church is lead by prophets as was the church that existed primitively. Today the prophet that God has chosen to lead us is Thomas S. Monson. Being a Mormon means so much more to me then just being a member of this church. It is everything to me!

How I live my faith

I teach the Gospel Doctrine Sunday School Class (Adults). This calling has been a rewarding challange for me. Preperation involves many hours of personal study which has helped me to draw closer to my Father in Heaven. It has also helped me know why Mormons know what they do. I am the mother of three children. Cameron, my oldest is 24. He served in the Texas Fort Worth Mission of the church. He works and is enrolled in college. Austin is my middle child. He has recently returned from serving as a missionary in the Washington Everett Mission. He also works and goes to school full time. My younges is MacKenzie. She is a Junior in high school. I've recently discovered how difficult it is to watch my children grow and leave my home. I hope that I have taught them the importance of living Gods Commandments, of being an example by doing what is right. I love to research my family history. I am an avid genealogist. As I have discovered my ancestors and their place in history, thier lives and examples have defined who I am today. As members of the church we believe that the family unit continues past this earth life. In the LDS temples that dot the earth, ordinance work is done that seals families together so that those families will be together in heaven. I have been sealed to my husband in one of those temples. If I live a worthy life I will be with my husband and children when we have all past from this life.
