Hi I'm Nikki

Life is good. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I would first identify myself as a wife and mother. My husband and I have 3 young children and being their mom is the most important thing in the world to me and brings me the most joy. I also work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. I love the challenge of being a nurse most of the time and the flexibility it gives me to be a stay-at-home mom. Hobbies and interests? Lots. Reading and writing, gardening, piano and ukulele, crocheting, movies, hiking, rafting and kayaking, sometimes cooking, working out, trying to stay sane. My family takes up most of my time, so I squeeze these things in when I can. Indeed, some of them are more like "aspiring to" hobbies. But it's good to have aspirations, right?

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel brings peace into my life. Because I am a member of the church, I am able to have the Spirit dwell with me at all times, if I stay faithful and worthy. And though I admit that my life can seem hectic and chaotic, bringing discouragement at times, there is an over-arching sense of peace and calm, even during a storm. I know that is a result of living the gospel, trusting in my Heavenly Father and his goodness, and exercising faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to spend much of my time serving the children and youth of the church. Currently I am serving as the nursery leader in my ward. I love this calling! Being close to such sweet and pure spirits reminds me that to live my faith means to stick to the basics. I try to follow Jesus. I pray for help. I treat others the way I want to be treated. I listen to the prophets. I do my best to live the commandments. And when I make mistakes, I repent. Most of all, I just keep going!
