Hi I'm Alicia!
I'm a piano teacher, a college library worker, enjoy crafts of all kinds, and work in Cub Scouts with my husband. Recently, I enrolled again! in college and am looking forward to lifelong learning. Our 3 children are grown, and we love every minute we get to spend with them and our grandsons.
Why I am a Mormon
My mom joined the church when I was young, so I've spent most of my life actively participating in the Church. I prayed and studied to learn for myself of the marvelous truths that can be found by all who seek. I know that this is where anyone can find more truth!
How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?
Well, we have found that having family prayer every day has been a tremendous blessing for us. To hear family members pray for each other, brings a greater sense of belonging and caring. We never allow any negative music, movies, literature in our home, thus keeping the spirit of peace here. We've learned to say I'm sorry, and forgive each other daily. It's ok to have difference of opinions, but with a little give and take and sharing, harmony does persist. NO, we're not perfect at this, but we keep trying!
Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.
As a young woman, I studied the life of Joseph Smith, Jr. I read the Book of Mormon, and early Church History. I prayed for my own witness of these things and have a powerful testimony that he was, indeed, a prophet of God! Just as Moses, Adam, Noah, Isaiah, and many other former prophets, he testified of Jesus Christ and filled every assignment from the Lord. He was an instrument of God and Jesus Christ in restoring Jesus's church to the earth. The Book of Mormon is exactly as he said it was, another testament of Jesus Christ and a record of Christ's dealings with the people of Ancient America. As I continue to study, ponder, and pray about Joseph Smith, my appreciation for him grows and strengthens. I thank God that Joseph Smith was strong enough and courageous enough to rise above the persecution and torment that was inflicted upon him and his family and that he carried out his mission on the earth with glory and honor!
How I live my faith
I love teaching young people and watching them grow and learn. My husband and I serve as Cub Scout leaders, and I play piano & organ for Sunday worship. I try every day to learn something new, be a better person, lift others along their way, and love as the Saviour loves.
