Hi I'm Chelsey

I grew up In Washington State. I'm a Nurse and a Mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Vancouver, WA in a family of six kids. I attended Brigham Young University for 3 years. I was studying exercise science - first thinking I wanted to become a physical therapist, then thinking I wanted to become a physician's assistant. After a little while I decided that I wanted to have a major that I would be able to use right away with just the Bachelor's degree. I started looking into dental hygiene or nursing school. I got married and moved to Florida. It was hard to have that break in between schools because I really had to figure out what to do with my education and my life. Where we moved to had quite a few nursing programs, but not a close dental hygiene school. I was accepted to Nova Southeastern University and completed nursing school in April of 2011. I worked as a Nurse on a cardiac stepdown unit until my baby girl came in November 2011. I love being a mom. My little girl is such a joy and I love everything about her. I chose to have a home birth with a licensed midwife and that was a great experience. I feel very blessed. LIfe is good. Real good.

Why I am a Mormon

I think that when you grow up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it's really easy to take it for granted. However, I continue to be an active member of this church today because I know it's true. I really can't imagine living any other way. I want to be a Mom in the future and have a family. Everything I've grown up learning, is everything I want for my family in the future. I grew up in a big family, and we always did multiple family activities throughout the week. We always ate dinner together, prayed together, went to church, and supported each other. I know I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and cares about my happiness. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Since being married, the main callings I've participated in is primary and young womens. I have loved pretty much all the callings I've had, but the young women have a special place in my heart. The last ward we were in, my young women were so awesome. I worked with the mia maids and it was so great to see the unity and the love that the young women have for each other. I loved seeing them set goals and develop their testimonies and knowledge of the gospel.
