Hi I'm Wade

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband to my very loving wife and a father to my beautiful children. We currently live in Texas and I'm a Firefighter at a local Fire Department. I was born and raised in Southern California and was raised as a "Mormon" by my mother and father along with my three sisters and one brother.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the church since birth and never really questioned the the teachings or doctrines I was taught all my life until I was in m teens. There came a point in my life where I could no longer rely on just what I had always been taught, but I needed to find out for myself if it was indeed true. I took the advise of my church leaders and my parents and read through the scriptures, specifically The Book of Mormon. I knelt alone in prayer and prayed to our Father in Heaven asking him specifically if what I had been taught was true. I asked Him if the Book of Mormon was a true book of scripture and if Joseph Smith was a Prophet. Heavenly Father confirmed to me through the power of the Holy Ghost that it was true. I felt the most powerful comforting feeling come over me that what I had been praying for was indeed true. I had the opportunity to serve a two year mission to Colorado when I was 19. During that time, I had many opportunities to share my experience with others and taught many people about what "Mormons" believe and know to be true. I saw many people who took what they were taught and prayed to God as I had and they had similar experiences and were baptized into the church. I also taught many people that didn't take what we were teaching seriously and didn't take the opportunity to ask God if it was true. And likewise, they did not gain a testimony. There have been many instances in my life when I have had the spirit reaffirm to me the truthfulness of this church, it's teachings, and it's doctrines.

How I live my faith

I try to live my daily life emulating Jesus Christ. I fall way short of His example but I still strive to keep the commandments and follow Christ. Jesus taught us many things while he was here on earth. Among His many teachings, He taught us to love God ore Father in Heaven, and love our neighbor as ourselves. He taught us to honor our father and mother. He continues to teach us today and now through modern day Prophets and Apostles which He has chosen to lead the church today. I strive to follow their teachings of Jesus Christ as well as what is written in the scriptures (The Book of Mormon, The Holy Bible) among others. I try to teach my children to choose the right, to do what is right and to follow Jesus Christ.
