Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon. I am an Australian who now lives in the USA. I minister to people at the end of their life.

About Me

I am a Hospice Chaplain , a Dad, and a husband of 35 years. I love fishing and yes I love scrapbooking. I have been a Minister of another religious persuasion. Even then I was searching for more meaning to the Gospel that I knew. I wanted to see real changes in those that I baptized. I wanted to see the Gospel in its entirety. I left Ministry believing that no one really had the answers that I so much needed. My wife started working for a Mormon. We both asked questions about this church that we knew was rapidly growing. We also believed that its teachings we very different from what we were used to. He answered all our questions honestly without pressuring us. We gradually over a four year period got to the stage where we investigated seriously. My wife joined the church but I still has some questions. One day I prayed that God would reveal the truth to me. Was this church true or not. I decided to read the Book of Mormon. As I read the Spirit testified powerfully that this book was true and thus all that pertained to it was also true. From that moment I have never doubted. This new belief accordingly changed my family life and deepened my love for my wife and family. What a blessing joining this church has brought in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Even as a Minister of another denomination I was looking for a Church that could answer the basic questions of 'where did I come from" and "where am I going" and "what is the purpose of my existence" in a logical way. I even taught others that these things are to be pondered but not fully understood in this life.I believed this until I came into contact with the Mormons. It took 4 years of struggling but finally Heavenly Father allowed me to experience the truth. The Holy Ghost came to me gently but forcefully enough to force me to lay down all of my preconceived ideas and open my mind to the truth. I have never doubted the truth of this Church or the beautiful Gospel it teaches from that day. Why do I stay a Mormon. Well, all that is taught makes logical sense. It has brought my family closer together. I love this Church and all it stands for.I no longer just believe things. Now I know of a surety that they are true.

How I live my faith

I try to serve people to the best of my ability. I work with people at the end of their earthly lives. It is amazing how many people are asking the important questions before they pass onto the next phase of life. I tell them what I know to be true , which gives them courage to endure well to the end.
