Hi I'm Bobbie

I'm a Mormon. I joined the church when I was 24 years old. I had been searching for answers and I found them here!

About Me

I'm a wife and mother of 1 teenage son. I stopped working full-time as a computer systems analyst after our son was born. Now I work part-time from home as an administrative assistant. I love to read and watch movies, especially science-fiction. I was in the Army for 5 years and that's where I met my husband. We've been married since 1976. I get tremendous satisfaction from being a wife and mom. I also teach early morning seminary (our religion class for teens) at 6:00am every school day. I love teaching and being with the teens.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a young teenager, I had questions about God, Jesus, and the gospel. The church I belonged to then, couldn't answer my questions. I didn't understand some of their teachings and was really confused. I investigated many churches and religions looking for the answers to my questions. Until one day I met a returned missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I asked him questions about all the things that had been bothering me. He answered them all and the Holy Spirit confirmed to my soul that he spoke the truth. After finally finding the true gospel, I got baptized.

How I live my faith

I teach early morning seminary religion class at 600am every school day for all the youth that attend our local high school. Seminary is so wonderful that getting up before 500am each morning doesn't seem like a sacrifice at all. We study and learn from the scriptures and each other. I love being with the youth; they are so strong and valiant.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Bobbie
Like in a courtroom, testimony is given by a person when they tell the truth about something. When I bear my testimony, I testify about what I know is true about the gospel and about the church. How do I find out what is true? I pray about it and ask Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit then bears witness to me what is true. This is how I discovered for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is scripture. Everyone can find these things out for themselves and have a "testimony" too! Show more Show less
