Hi I'm Michael

I have 5 daughters and I'm a convert to the church.

About Me

I love to go snow skiing with my kids in the winter and in the summer we go camping and on adventures. My wife and I home school our two oldest kids. We are a very active and busy family but daily family prayer and scripture study keep us close. I own a small trucking company and my wife teaches Zumba a couple days a week.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not born a member of the church in fact I didn't now anything about the church before I was taught by the missionaries. When I was 25 my wife and I were living a worldy life and we had many struggles because of it. We were trying to raise our first two kids and have a family. But living a life of 'going out partying" with friends was driving us apart and ruining our life. I knew in my heart that there was a better way and I wanted our family to be close and happy. One day while at work (driving truck) I pulled over to the side of the road and poured my heart out to my Heavenly Father and told him I would do anything to save my family. A couple of days later missionaries showed up at the door and I heard a still small voice tell me "if you want to change liten to these guys". I was baptized 30 days later and it was the best thing that ever happend to me.

How I live my faith

I serve with the young men of our ward. We go out camping and do lots of fun scouting stuff. My favorite part is taking the young men and helping them serve others. Seeing the youth and how clean, virtus and faithfull they are helps to build my testimony of the church. I have never before seen such a outstanding group of teenagers.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Michael
When I was growing up my parents took me to lots of different christian church's and I would always ask the Minister/Church leader what happens to those who have never heard of Jesus Christ? I would get answers like 'God will figure out away for them' or 'they will be dammed'. This always bothered me it didn't seem fair. When I was investigating the church I asked this question and I found out that God did find away for them and it is through the Temple. In the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints members are baptized for and in behalf of those who have passed away and may of may not have been able to learn about Jesus Christ. This gives them a opportunity to accept Chrust and be baptized even though they may not have had the opportunity while here on earth. Show more Show less
