Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 3 beautiful, and hyper kids. My oldest is 9 years old he is also my only boy. I have two girls ages 7 and 3. They bring me a lot of joy and wear me out. I have been married for 10 years. We love playing games together....and it is fun that our kids are getting old enough to actually play game. I teach piano lessons and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My family was among the first of the early saints. I have never doubted that this is the true church. My parents always encouraged us to gain our own testimonies and while I never doubted I did start praying about it at a young age. I love the stability of the gospel. I know that no matter where we go the church will all be the same. I love knowing that we have a prophet on the earth today. I like knowing that Heavenly Father loves us today just as he did the people in ancient times. He provided them with a prophet to help in their hard times. And he had provided a prophet. I can't imagine how scared I would feel without that knowledge in the world that we live in today. I love knowing that I can receive answer to my prayers, that Heavenly Father hears and know them. I am very grateful for the priesthood in my home. There is a real peace that comes in knowing that I can receive a blessing for anything that I need. I love the gospel so much.

How I live my faith

By just doing the best I can. I try hard to think how my actions speak to those around us. I try to remember that because I am a daughter of God I am also representative of that family. Just as I would never do something that would give my family name tarnish....I don't want to tarnish my heavenly family name.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Rachel
I remember when I was 14, I was talking with a friend who was upset because she felt that in the church, all women were good for was to get married and have babies. I have never felt this way. I have always felt that in the church that women were respected. It is true that we believe that one of the most noble things a woman can do is become a mother. However there are many women who never marry or are unable to have children, and they are not looked down upon at all. I have never felt like my worth was less then that of the men. In fact in some ways I have felt like I had a special worth that is different from the men but in no ways less then them. Show more Show less
