Hi I'm Bodil

I am right now one of the Familysearch's online missionaries, helping people with their genealogy.

About Me

I live in Denmark, I am a teacher in the local school. I enjoy teaching and being with children. I also enjoy working with genealogy, both my own, and localhistory too. I knit a lot, and since I have five grandchildren I have some, who like to get new sweaters and so on. I am very interested in politics, and have been working with that for many years.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager, I started reading the Bible, and I realized, that I did not belong to a church, that followed the stardards taught in the Bible. I did not know, how to find a church, that followed these standards - and for some years I did not know what to do about it, but I believed, that God some day would help me find his true church. Some years later I was living in a bigger town, and one day the missionaries came to my door, they introduced the Book of Mormon to me, and instantly I had a strong feeling of God telling me, this was what I had sought so long. During the next months they taught me. What a wonderful experience - and I had found the church, which I did not know where to look for. While I was being taught by the missionaries, they also taught me about the principle of prayer, and that God is listening and that He will answer. So I decided to ask Him, if the Book of Mormon was true, and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. What a sweet, wonderful feeling, when the Holy Spirit filled me and confirmed to me, that it was all true. I could not deny this testimony, and I knew, that God knew that. Finally one day I was ready to be baptized. Being baptized and becoming a member was the most wonderful thing ever happened to me ever. Since then I have been married to my husband in the temple and we believe in eternal marriages, so I am looking forward to many, many years together with my husband.

How I live my faith

I am married and I am a mother of five children and five grandchildren. After 32 years we now no longer have children living with us in our home. We still work. I am a teacher at the local school, and I try to be a good teacher, trying to follow the teachings of Christ. My husband and I spend some hours every week serving in the church. My husband has been called to serve as the leader of our local branch lately. I was lately called to serve as a service-missionary, working from our home. I am a part of the supporter-team for Familysearch.org, and I spend several hours every week helping people from my own area or from any place in the world. I love serving people this way, helping them with their familyhistory. I also teach evening classes in familyhistory.

What is the Relief Society?

Bodil
Relief Society is the oldest organization for women througout the world, and every branch of the church has a Relief Society. We teach each other in the Relief Society, and many subject are being taugth. I have learned to cook soup, make flower decorations, mending my clothes, how to take care of the finances in our family and many other subject in my branch. Each Sunday we have a class, where we are being taught in the teaching from our church, just the women together. We visit each other every month, building friendships, and helping each other with what ever problem we might have. Sometimes we have projects, where we produce some things for other organizations, like knitting babyclothes for Mother Teresa, or hats for the homeless people. Show more Show less
