Hi I'm Charlene

I'm a divorced single mom of 2. I'm A registered nurse I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My most important job is being a mom. My husband left us a few years ago and the divorce has been quite hard. There is no way I could have gotten through this trial without my parents. I'm a registered nurse. My oldest boy is waiting to get his mission call right now. I can't wait to see where he gets to serve. My youngest is still in high school. My boys played football and track last year. I love watching them play.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 16 when a friend invited me to a church dance on Saturday night and then to go to church with her on Sunday morning. When I would step into the church I was overwhelmed with a feeling of love. We did this for a few months before I asked if I could talk with the missionaries. My friend was thrilled! I was baptized in 1989. The main reason I joined the church was the love that I felt at church. I had been to many churches, searching for several years, and I had not felt that until I entered THIS church. I realize now that what I felt was the Holy Ghost confirming to me that I was where I was supposed to be. I look forward to that same feeling every week.

How I live my faith

I try to always do what I know is right. I know I make mistakes but I know I can repent and start clean again. Our family tries to do things together often. We have prayers with our meals. We have dinner together every night. We have morning prayer before anyone goes out of the house in the morning and evening prayer before we go to bed. We read scriptures every evening.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is your affirmation that you believe something is true. I have a tesitmony that Jesus is the Christ. He died for our sins. I'm so grateful for that. I've gained that tesimony by reading the scriptures and praying for it. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Wow, this is a hard thing! Everywhere you look there are inappropriate images! I make sure that I have told my kids that it is immoral. They are more aware than I am sometimes. They will tell me, "Mom that show is not appropriate, or that song talks about things that are not appropriate." We have our computers in public places like the living room and kitchen. You aren't allowed to hide with the computer. We block channels on TV that are inappropriate. I am friends with my kids on facebook so I can see what their frinds are saying and if inappropriate I have their passwords to delete posts or "friends." Show more Show less
