Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a Mormon, but I was not born that way. I analyze things to death, especially movies, which drives my wife crazy.

About Me

I am an ex-athlete that exercises regularly. I play basketball on Saturdays with and against guys half my age. I have been married over 23 years. My wife and I adopted our three kids. Our oldest has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and Soto's Syndrome. Our two youngest were Fetal-Alcohol babies. All three are healthy, happy, and thriving. I love to golf, drive, and camp with my son. I manage a Data Center for a voice and date service provider. I enjoy the daily challenges. I recently survived two years of being under and unemployed.

Why I am a Mormon

I analyze things to death. When I was 17 years old, I took stock of my life and looked at where I was headed. I didn't have a good feeling about it. There was always something in the back of my head encouraging me to make good choices. When I ignored them, I struggled. When I heeded the promptings, I was happier. When I was introduced to the church by friends, I felt strong promptings to research the beliefs. The more I researched and analyzed, the stronger the promptings became. I was prompted to pray to find the truth and I received an answer. Once I received that answer, it was easy to turn away from bad influences.

How I live my faith

I teach adult Sunday School every week. We are currently studying the teachings of Jesus Christ from the New Testament. I love the message and I love the interaction and discussions with the class. I have the responsibility to look out for three other families in our ward, each with unique needs. I have grown to love those whom I serve.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

If you want the truth about anything, you should go to the source. In this case, since we believe that this is the "True" religion, the source of all truth is God. Study the words of the prophets and ask Heavenly Father in prayer, with conviction and faith. You will receive an answer from the source. I have and it has made all the difference in my life. What is being a Mormon like?

I imagine my life is very similar to any other person you meet, except that I have a deep understanding of our purpose here on earth and the plan of happiness that Heavenly Father has for us. That understanding brings me peace and joy. It also helps me to make the right choices which bring joy to myself, my family, and those I associate with. Show more Show less
