Hi I'm Chalise

I strive daily to change the lives of America's youth through education. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I always thought to avoid stereotyping myself based on my occupation, but as the years have passed I have learned that my job truly is an integral part of who I am. I am a teacher. I currently teach High School Theatre, Speech, Spanish, and Film; but really I teach life lessons: self-esteem, team work, integrity, and the need to meet our potential. I truly believe that each one of us has so much unlocked potential, and it is my goal in life to help my students to catch a glimpse of it, so they can take off into the future, wings spread and ready to soar. I am also a single young adult, that is learning to make the most of this time "in transition". The time between your parents home, and the home you hope and pray to start in the future. I am a daughter of God, who strives daily to make the right decisions so that I can return to my loving Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as long as I can remember I have know that the church is true. Many times I have questioned the role of The Church of Jesus Christ in my life, and every time I have received the same answer, "Chalise, you have always known it is true." I have witnessed too many sacred experiences, felt the spirit so abundantly, and felt the love of my Savior, Jesus Christ, to ever doubt my testimony. I have seen the gospel change the lives of those around me, the glow on the faces of those who are learning the gospel principles for the first time, and heard the testimonies of those who have had the gospel their whole life. The gospel has made me the best version of myself, it has taught me that I have a purpose here on this earth, that I have a loving Heavenly Father, that I am a daughter of God, and that I have a Savior that suffered and bled for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily, trying to be the best version of myself. I am currently in a young single adult branch (those who attend our service are all single between the ages of 18-31). I am a part of the women's organization (Relief Society) and it is my calling to organize teachers for our meetings.
