Hi I'm Jim

I'm a science and math teacher currently serving a mission for my church and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I love to brag about our seven children and nineteen wonderful grandchildren. We I are currently serving as Seminary and Institute Missionaries in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission. When we return to our lives at home I hope to continue outdoors sports including fly fishing, hunting, and hiking, I enjoy woodworking and reloading. I'm a tinkerer and love play with anything mechanical.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to have faith in God. Acting on that choice, I pray, read scriptures, serve my fellowman, and try to keep all the commandments. As I read the scriptures they testify to me that my choice is correct. Additional testimony, inspiration, and solace has come to me through prayer. Being a Mormon helps guide me in my service and worship. I like to read all the scriptures and I especially like the Book of Mormon because it clearly speaks to me of living a life acceptable to the Lord. It always inspires me to try a little harder to be a better person.

How I live my faith

I am now retired from teaching high school science and math. As a science teacher I made a goal to help students recognize that science and religion deal largely with different domains of understanding and that they do not have to discard their faith to study science. Now, my wife and I are serving a mission as teachers of religious courses for young adults of college age. We try to help students find joy, solace, and a witness of God in the scriptures.
