Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Mormon. I am a retired teacher of Theatre and Filmmaking in Gr. 9-12. I am also a professional actor and I perform locally.

About Me

Professional Actor. Acting teacher. Director and choreographer. Budding golfer. Husband. Father. Pip (grandfather). New Englander. Wachusett Regional H.S., Northeastern Univ., Brandeis, Univ. Kayaker, birder.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The LDS Church is the only life that makes any sense to me. I feel connected to God, my family, the world, nature. This is the place! There is no substitute for a spiritual witness from God accompanied by amazing, intelligent people who confirm the choice. "By their works ye shall know them." No where is this more true than in the LDS Church.

How I live my faith

My last church calling was Primary Music Leader, though I will soon be entering the mission field as a full time missionary, 3/19/18. I was called by the Bishop of my ward (congregation) to serve in the Primary. I worked with the Primary Leaders to teach the children music and prepare them for presentations for our ward (congregation). There is a lot of doctrine in the songs they learn so the Spirit is quite strong during music time. I try to highlight something each week to increase the children's spiritual knowledge. On my mission I will be doing Family History Document Preservation, which entails photographing old valuable documents and digitizing them so relevant genealogical/historical information can be extracted and put into the Family Search database. I also read the scriptures regularly. We study a new book of scripture in Sunday School every year, so I try to keep up with the lesson materials. I teach the priesthood lesson on Sundays-this is a rotating assignment. Prayer is also a regular part of my life. My wife and I kneel together both morning and evening. Gratitude for blessings and family is an important part of my prayers.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Matt 4:4, "Man Shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." The Bible is a sacred text of God's dealings with His prophets and His children. Members of the LDS Church revere the Bible and feast upon the words contained therein so we might better understand God and what he expects us to do/learn in this life. Mormons believe that the Bible is an inseparable companion to the Book of Mormon and the these two books bear an incontrovertible witness of the reality of God and the divinity of His son, Jesus Christ.
